Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg 

Located in the heart of Hattiesburg’s medical community, just behind Forrest General Hospital and Hattiesburg Clinic, Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg is a 148 bed skilled nursing facility. The facility has beautifully updated common areas, a large gazebo, raised flower gardens and manicured lawns. The sunroom opens to an enclosed courtyard leading to a large, inviting dining room with a baby grand piano and fireplace. The center offers a 30 bed unit (all private rooms) which is a dedicated rehabilitation unit offering an aggressive therapy program in addition to a day room and dining space within the unit. Well-equipped therapy rooms and activity programs ensure resident recreation in addition to the highest quality in care.

The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The program honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Meet some of our Leadership Team:

Carl Carl Young, Administrator

Carl Young began working with the Bedford Care Centers in 2011, but has been in healthcare since 1985. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Young has a strong desire to make a different kind of healthcare and pursues this dream daily with his talented team at Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg.

Chad TisdaleChad Tisdale, Director of Nursing

Chad Tisdale, RN, began his career with Bedford as an LPN in 1993. He completed both his practicial nursing as well as his AD RN from Jones Junior College. Mr. Tisdale has served in various roles in the healthcare field including LPN, MDS Coordinator, QA nurse, and Hospice director. Additionally, he helped manage the clinical side of 5 nursing homes in Mississippi and performed Quality Assurance and mock surveys for those centers. Mr. Tisdale was lead to work in healthcare through family ties and a history of visiting nursing homes every Sunday as a child.
